I have posted about Boyd in the past and said good things, but I have to retract everything I previously said. I've worked for them for 8 years now. The trucks are now slowed down to 60 MPH, SLOWER THAN JB HUNT! They are going to 100% elogs soon, and the new trucks have security cameras looking at the drivers. when I started there, they were a good company to work for, but it's become obvious this company is circling the drain. Boyd used to be a good deal, but the industry is changing.
From what I'm hearing, it seems a large number of companies are doing this crap. After 20 years on the road, I think it may be time to end my trucking career. This seems to be the direction the industry is going. I got into the trucking business in order to be self-directed with no supervisor looking over my shoulder all the time. It's become obvious that that way of life is coming to an end.volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
I think your perceptions are right man. The industry is changing; however, is it for the good of the industry? Now camera's pointed at the driver, now thats a new one I havent heard yet.

This is so true !! I think most of us truckers started off trucking because of the freedom ! No big brother watching us , this world is all going to be one big giant robot O'well ??? Thanks for the info. My regreting of leavening Boyd docent seem so bad after all

A little strip of Duct tape should fix the camera issue.

I'd been planning to go with Boyd after the holidays but if they're really putting camers in the cabs, that's a deal breaker. I prefer to pick my nose in private. I'd like some flatbed experience before I go o/o but not that bad.

The cameras face "forward", to record an accident, should one happen. "They will not be pointed at the driver". Somewhere, somehow, someone has got some bad information about cameras being pointed at a driver.
BTW, I drive for Boyd Brothers, and I love it. Good luckMiFamilyGuy Thanks this. -
That's encouraging. Do you go to Michigan much? They claim weekly home time but I've yet to see any Boyd trucks anywhere near my home(Lansing).
