    Did you sell your equipment?

I had a customer today call and was roundabout saying he’d like a decrease. I told him if he could increase volume then maybe we could work together to help each other out. Told him that our operation is built to haul his specialty freight and we can’t run for regular dry van rates. He said he’d be in touch. Told him to work with us thru the bad times and we’ll still be here on the other side.

This isn’t directed at you btw just an info. Customer relationships are key. Sometimes you just have to be honest about the situation and not pretend things are in your favor when they know it’s not.

Btw I have contract with this company theu december. But I do remember asking for an increase halfway the last contract. Give and take. They put up a good fight against a increase and now I’m doing politely the same on the other side.

Smart move and you can come back and do some trucking when Oilfield dies down or get sick of it. Nothing wrong with making 200K a year working a fun job like wireline. Do you do a lot of logging or do you do a lot of frac? I always liked rigging wireline stuff up for them to go down hole. Was easy money on the bonuses we made.

Everyone needs to win to continue to work together in long term contracts in my eyes. You do everything you can to win when it is going your way and try to be as fair as possible when it is in their favor. I think most companies understand this if they want a stable company to work with and will gladly do it,

Talked with one of the local broker the other night as I helped him change a brake can in the lot, (he has one of his own trucks) one of the local loads he has had a contract for ~25 years, it’s about 130 miles but it goes to a C&S so you are looking at 4 hours there and usually an hour or two to load, they bumped him out because they are moving them for $350-400 the 3 times a week they go

oh and they are usually always late on their 120 day money and this was after they refused to move on rates when spot was through the roof
