I am currently enrolled in a 18 week class A CDL course at NTTS in Liverpool NY. I am 10 weeks away from completing the course. The school has recruiters come in from different company's atleast once a week and we hear the same speal from almost every recruiter. So far I have only applied to Werner and got a pre employment letter. But from what I've been reading I am also interested in Schneider and Stevens transport. My main issue is I'm only 21 and my driving record isn't the best. I know a lot of company's won't hire you unless your over 23. I haven't gotten any tickets within a year though which my school recruiter said is a positive. I'm just looking for some advice and input on some decent companies. I am located in central New York. Thank you!
Current student looking for advice

K good luck, hope ur not looking to make alot of money cuz u wont,

I'm looking for something OTR with no touch freight. And in all honesty making big money isn't my biggest concern. I live with my parents still and have very few things that need to be paid. I'm looking to atleast bring home 600 a week after training and home time is not a big deal to me.

I made .25 cpm at swift in my first year.
Werner has a crappy reputation. Schneider has a better trailer fleet and they have better accounts. -
I'm trying to avoid swift at all costs. Each company has their own horror story's so I guess, it's a pick your poison type of ordeal.

Awe ok, u drove for Swift, yuk but ok
-
Agreed. It is a lot better now starting out driving than it was back in 2011. Good luck!
