How much starting pay did NTB offer you? I applied to them out of school, but the pay they offered was a bit too low for me. They do a lot of deliveries to Meijer stores. Relatively easy.

Well this is where these things usually go south but what the heck. Let me dispel a few "myths" for you, I'm not talking down to your or being a jerk so if you take it that way it's on you.

First, you don't have to go to driving school or have experience to get on with a decent company.

Second, don't worry about what the driving school instructors and other bottom feeder company drivers tell you about the money or the miles (TMC and NTB both are) be "that guy" and the money will come. I drove 32,000 miles last year.

Third, the company you're looking for (outside of LTL or food service both of which I wouldn't recommend) may not have a website or a fleet of trucks the same color but they're out there trust me.

The right opportunity exists it's up to you to find it.

I wouldn't mind all of that really as i work out on a daily basis as it is. Seems like a good fit to kinda squeeze in some sort of exercise while on the road for me.

They told me .38cpm for the first 2200 miles then a additional .3cpm for driving on the weekends and another .5cpm for any mile over 2200 in a week. With a couple of other incentives in the mix. I have a buddy that works for them now and makes pretty good change from them. I had a interview with them yesterday and overall seems like a pretty solid company to go with. Only reason I'm hesitant is because of the days off. I'm a huge gear head and the 2 days off a week they offered would cut out my whole entire car hobby.

Mostly all the smaller companies as you stated won't hire recent grads. I've looked around Everywhere. If it was one out near me I probably would of found it lol. I've looked into Allot more companies then the average Joe. Only thing i can go off of is spoken words from folks who actually lived it at the moment since i know nothing of trucking right now.

In that case, I'd go with them over TMC unless you really want to do flatbed and feel like you'd fit in with the company culture there. Good luck.

    Pontimaniac Thanks this.

Thanks, i personally want to go with them but dont think i can give up my car lifestyle just for a potential of a few more bucks kinda thing ya know. TMC is off on weekends to where NTB gave me Wednesday and Thursday off. Even asked about the weekend thing and they weren't budging at NTB.
