XXDarth,
Yes I called Swift today in fact.
Recruiter said once 1 moving violation drops off in April 08 then give them a call back.
Central Refergrated has accpted me also, so the news gets better.
I know I can last at least 3-6 months with just about any carrier, after that as you said my options will improve greatly.
Thanks again.

Your options will be limited if your MVR is less then perfect. I drove for Central Refrigerated for a short period of time. The pay is not great but you do get the miles. Almost too many miles to the point. I had hell keeping my log book under control. So beware if you choose this company. Overall they treated me fairly decent. I got tired of hearing the #### reefer startup at night. Thats one reason why I like flatbed work.

LOL I see lots of people with this same complaint. The reefer never bothered me--of course i find it hard to sleep in total quiet anyways. I always left my tv on till after i went to sleep or else i couldnt sleep too good. -
Thanks all.
Just sent my app. in to Central Reffer. Recruiter says all good, but has to have an official application.
Overall sounds like a decent outfit-as far as my choices go anyway.
Anyone trained with any of Central's trainers?
Good, bad??
Thanks again.. -
From what i have read--Central is a pretty good company! they have good equipment--the pay isnt that great but I dont think it would be a bad starter company. In my opinion, that would be a good choice. Good luck to you--hope it goes well for you!

I don't know anything about there training program. I do remember getting a empty trailer was a biscuit at times. Little tip on that. They get there new trailers right there in salt lake. If you talk to the right people. They will let you go and pick up a new trailer.

Ladytrucker,
Thanks again for the advice.
From Central's website, looks like they pay about even with the carriers that will take me.
Noticied Central has from what I can tell some good bonuses like safety, fuel, 10,500 monthly miles equals extra .01 cpm (I believe).
Also extra $15 for every load delivered on time.
Over the year looks like that could add up.
Plus their student training pay is a bit more than Werner's.
(still not much $, but better than average).
Oh, know what you mean by having some noise on while sleeping.
I like to have a fan running just for the noise. Maybe reffer will work out for me?
Thanks... -
Rookietrucker,
Thanks for the tip.
Heard finding empty trailers is a "challange" at Werner also.
Overall sounds like Central is looking better & better.
Thanks again. -
No problem at all--I know how overwhelming it can be starting out! I have been there myself!
Good luck to you and I hope it works out for you! The best of luck to you!
