I drove with a different reefer company and hauled lots of produce out of the Everglades.
Lots of refrigerated freight all over Florida.

 

You won’t walk straight into a Publix driving job, but, that’s who you want to drive for. My 2nd choice would be Walmart. Then, I’d be looking at RaceTrac, dropping fuel.

All the food distribution companies have facilities in and around Lakeland/Orlando.

Werner, Swift, NFI, Schneider, etc, all have local jobs, based in and around Lakeland, but, they’re not necessarily going to be listed on Indeed or on their company websites.

Heyl Truck Lines has a terminal in Zephyrhills.

Your best bet might be to drive around all the industrial parks, in and around Lakeland, writing down what companies are servicing those accounts.

If you’re looking for OTR, you’ll never be home, given companies will be unwilling to lose money, getting you back up out of there.
