I always appreciate it if someone is smart enough to move so that I can make a turn and I always wave at them to show my appreciation, I can't believe that he would have flipped you off, what a jerk.

What I hate are the people that are so clueless that they can't see that a truck can't make the turn because they pulled up to close and they just sit there and don't move

 

It could also be that he was a bit 'pissy' about you backing up for him; taking it as a question to his skill. If so, the guy was being WAY WAY too touchy. But sadly there ARE a few 18wheeled baby carriages out there. lol. Personally, whether or not it's needed; I'm heartened to see it. To me, it shows that the regular driver's paying attention, and not only understands the geometry of a truck, but is courteous enough to do what he can to help.
