Folks I’m the OP! Not done here, I’m just driving today and do not have time right now to reply to some of these posts. I looked back at the events of yesterday and would not have done anything differently. I am absolutely not looking for any sympathy, support or anything else from you folks. I posted this because drivers are being abused in many ways out here. If I can point out some things to others that will help them in a situation, so be it.

Some more details will follow later today.

I’m on the side of sanity. As soon as the receiver told him he wasn’t taking it when agreed upon he should’ve went back to his truck and notified his company and let them handle it (he is a company driver, correct?).

This is a company issue, not a police issue.

I would have sent my company a message immediately quoting EXACTLY what the A hole said.

Calling the Sheriff? Really? You made a scene when one was not necessary. If you were my driver, I would have fired you. What you should have done is call your dispatch and let them handle it, instead, you escalated a situation and more than likely cost your company future revenue and or a black mark on their record. But, I bet the broker is busting a nut over your shenanigans at his customer. Trust me, your company will never load there again.

Your not on the side of sanity and your taking sides of the receiver that cussed out the driver and beat his fist on the desk.

Here is another truck driver that is in favor of receivers cussing out drivers and beating their fits on the desk.

What he did wrong was call the cops. Outside of being physically threatened there's no need. Beyond being inappropriate it's majorly counter productive.

Driver shows up at 6:30 for a 0700 appt, gets told he won't be started on until 0900. Driver should immeadilty call dispatch or broker and get them involved to ensure detention pay/get the big guns involved.

Until the driver has new information or questions, the driver has no need to interact with the clerk. Let the cranky dog gnaw on his own leg for a bit. Get your ducks in a row, check your sights, then go back in.

No one has said that he needs to roll over for the jerk. Big difference between stamding up for yourself and what the OP did.

Let me explain something to everyone.
The receiver showed aggrestion and a confrontational dispute along with foul language.

YOU CAN CALL THE POLICE just for that. The driver had a load to deliver and might have pretty well felt threatened by the manager. If the police didn't show up it could have possible gotten out of hand.

    Grouch and austinmike Thank this.

The fist pounding could be construed as a threat of violence. I would have left.
