Actually the most common wheelbase in Canada is 244". I am starting to see 260 up here though. Think some provinces are starting to wake up. Most provinces will issue a permit for wheelbase over 244" but then you have to keep an eye on your bumper to bumper length to the back of the trailer.

How much does that cost to add?

Depends on if you buy new, have it put on a new truck, buy used and have it put on a used truck or buy a used truck with it already on there. Pricing is all over the board from 10K to 300k.
I beleive the most cost effective way is to find a used truck with a custom sleeper already on it. Expect to pay 10-30k over the averager cost of the used truck.
But as with any older truck, expect to rebuild everything including the sleeper accessories. Like the 5' fridge is almost 2 grand. Big generator rebuild is around 5 grand.
Playing with big sleepers takes big money.sweezly1 Thanks this. -
Hmmmm....I've always wondered how do you keep the fresh water and waste water tanks from freezing? I'm up in North Dakota and was considering either buying a ready made one or building my own as I have built my own rvs before. But I was thinking of trying to get one that would fit a standard wheelbase. Or a factory long wheelbase like 270 or something.

The fresh water tank is under the dinette bench seat but inside. The black water tank is built into the shower/toliet (inside also) pulls out the side for empting. Grey water generally runs right out onto the ground or into a tank under the sink.
Water lines run through heat ducts.
So as long as the inside of the truck stays above freezing tempertures, nothing freezes.
When parked, I have to plug into shore power or run the generator. Running heat inside and also heating the water
Domestic hot water is heated by the big engine and or by the generator. So have hot water on demand.
There is alot to a custome sleeper, probably more than most can imagine.Panhandle flash and Cetane+ Thank this. -
Might be the wrong spot, I was thinking of modifying a standard condo by removing the upper bunk and installing cabinets. Mount the microwave and a space saver style coffee pot under the cabinets.
