The state of Georgia doesn't care if you are empty or loaded. They will pull you in their scales. I went down I-95 in South Carolina going into Georgia. I had exactly 7,000 pounds in the dry box. Knowingly, I am not over on none of my axles with that much weight. That's like pulling an empty trailer. Sure enough, I get pulled into to the chicken coop with 7,000 pounds. I get the bypass lane. Georgia DOT is so desperate it's not even funny. If you let out a flatulent with the window down, I am sure they will say you got hazmat on with no placards. It's that crazy with Georgia DOT.![]()

Yep...Operation DOT Shakedown 2014 has commenced.
ewill71 and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Depends on how fast you're going under the transponder and your company's CSA score. I usually get the green light everywhere, except when GA wants to pull everybody in.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

False. Unless you're going to tell me that everytime you slip seat a truck daily/weekly it's updated which I will call bogus on that claim to. Prepass is only assigned to the company, that's it. Nothing at all is tied to the driver of that truck
-
That is not true. They have your name, carrier, and tag. That's why you can't use another driver's prepass that works with you. We also have prepass gates so I know all that stuff pulls up.
-
Over last 3 days and 2000+ miles, I only had to run over 2 open scales and never felt luckier. Only 4th time seeing this but the coops seemed 'extra' packed this year. Some looked like a truck show was going on as they had so many in rows with the hoods up.
-
What? Last company I worked for slip-seated often and the pre-pass belonged to the truck, not drivers. They remained in the truck.
-
Who do you guys work for? This is beyond false. I drove slip seat for a year, never had to switch prepasses. This might be for some of you guys & I truly mean SOME but there's so many carriers that slip seat on dedicated accounts that have prepass and I know for a fact that what you guys are saying isnt true.
-
I know mine has my Name, tag, and carrier. I am leased to my dad's company, when we add a pre-pass to a truck, we update all of that on the website.
-
Because it's YOUR TRUCK!! This isn't the case with company drivers. The prepass is just tied to the truck vin & license plates
