Yes absolutely, if paid then must log on duty hours, you can work all you want, within State labor laws. You just can't drive if you go over your 14 hr or 70 hr clock without taking a minimum 10 hours sleeper or off duty.
Edit: he can work all he wants but before he drives he would need a reset.Last edited: Feb 19, 2019

NO! You MUST either get recap back to drive once past that 70 OR do a reset. Just doing a 10 is not enough!

My first comment was written under the possibility the OP was talking about driving. If not that's OK too. Just remember as a professional you should get rest. If you are doing none driving work on the weekends you are not getting good rest. You can do this at 25, but as you start to hit those middle age years it is not as easy. So my answer is yes, absolutely. Just get enough rest!

My bad, i should have said "can i drive" for another company.
Ruan is hiring part-time drivers on the weekend for the Target account that`s why i asked. -

- ALL work for any motor carrier counts against 60/7 and 70/8 clocks.
- COMPENSATED work for non motor carries does as well.
- There is no limit to the non-driving hours that can be worked whether for motor carriers or not.
- In order to drive there must be sufficient hours remaining on 60/7 and 70/8 or recap hours or after a reset.
On-duty time means...
(8) Performing any other work in the capacity, employ, or service of, a motor carrier; and- §395.2 Definitions.
(9) Performing any compensated work for a person who is not a motor carrier.
brian991219 and tscottme Thank this.
