I don't see valve lash as being the issue, although Pablo is right - you could have burned exhaust valves. You'd be able to tell by removing the exhaust manifold and listening for air escaping during the compression stroke on each cylinder. Or using a borescope to visualize the valves themselves. What puzzles me is what would have caused the burned valves in the first place.

Im wondering. I never have gotten much into the VEB exhaust rockers. What if the solenoid that allows oil to flow into the exhaust rockers turned on, or hung up. Is that a possibility?

Needs a rebuild its done for

now you have to remove cyl. head. For easy work take apart hatch in cab. much easier to work on volvo if you can access to engine from cab

The compression test on vcad is very accurate last time I had a bent valve I was able to figure it out pretty easy u pull out the injector take a long blower and a rag and blow air in the piston hear or check for a leak from the intake or exhaust if everything is ok the piston should move down a bit. If I was u I would start by removing the fuel pump and checking if the shaft is worn it as d12 have that common problem around that mileage also check the play on the accessory drive as far as in and out being that it drives the fuel pump. If all comes up ok let me know if u have any fault codes on vcad pro. I work with these engines on a daily basis and I have only seen one come In with a bent valve so I don't think it would be a head issue let me know what u find or if u need any help

Remove the injectors and check the cups that's one of the main reason for bad compression
