Mine 1.3 million miles. 2012 vnl630. Another O/O has 2008 with 1.49 million. Never cracked the engine open other than for injectors and cups. He replaced egr valve. We both have driven the trucks off the lot new. You roll the dice and see what happens when you buy used. But d13 is a good engine.

Mine is a 2015 and it’s currently at 1.21 mil mi and running. It also has an original iShift that still goes (clutch replaced @ 750k).
With this kind of milage every trip could be the last one tbh, I don’t think it’s a wonder engine, it is a good one though.
They do need valves adjusted regularly and they have many electrical issues and sensors going bad, and accessories will go one by one with miles but the motor itself just keep going.

I purchased this 780 new in june 2007 , after 10 years running team, sold it in 2017 with 1,833,000 miles original D13 original Eaton 13. But i replaced camshaft 4 sets of injectors and lots more, mostly emission related . The truck is still on the road , +2.2 mil miles without in frame.

Btw this was the odometer when i sold it, in august 2017

I've been following the D13/mp8. If we had to upgrade to something newer it would be that platform. I've heard lots of people going past 1.5 mil without touching the motor

I have a 2016 Volvo VNL670 with a D13 and a I-Shift, I purchased used with 1.2 million miles on it, and had been sitting for 1-1/2 years.

It runs strong and seems ready for another million. My other truck is a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia with a DD15 and 600,000 miles on it, and I would say they are both comparable power but its hard to imagine the DD15 making it to 1 million.

The older Volvo's that others are recommending have the pre-DEF Detroit 60 engines, which are great engines too.

Why has the Vnl been sitting so long?
