Volvo VHD must be dump truck, chassis. They spend more time waiting moving slowly in construction/excavation sites to get loaded, more than driving , short trips moving dirt, not highway job @50-60mph .
So that 750 hours equals 30K miles is somewhat accurate, and puts the wear and tear down between 600 to 700K miles.
Now now let's be fair, it's got 700 k , come on. Did you fix the injection system issue yet or leave it go and replace with your new truck? I hope the red X15 motor does better at 700k , so far they're looking promising , time will tell. We know the green VoMack motor will go 1M+ but the injection system is enough to drive people nuts lol.
Its on its 8th set of injectors. Im holding off buying a new truck for now due to market forcasts and because of how depressed rates are currently. I am trying to keep this thing going. Fuel economy is crap but power is decent. 5.5mpg the other day going 65 with 44k lbs of beer in the trailer. Idk what is going on. It has smoke coming from the oil fill cap. It still looks pretty atleast. Bought my own dry van the other day. Maybe I should have bought a new engine instead.
Smoke from oil cap isn't good. I wonder if your centrifuge is bad. Can you hear it spinning down after you shut the engine off? 8 sets of injectors is very crazy. Were they oem and did Volvo put them in? Volvo OEM carries 1yr warranty if you have problems with a 6 pack. Definitely a problem going on with that mpg though
I used to hear it spin down. And yeah all sets were installed by Volvo. Tell me about it. Last year I had turbo, egr valve and egr cooler replaced. After that my fuel economy started dropping. No codes. Im lost.
Last cylinder compression test results. Smoke machine found no leaks in the intake system but took the oil fill cap off and the smoke was flowing out of the oil fill tube. I think my engine is toast.
