Hi guys, I am one of those people that give truckers a bad name. I feel pretty crappy about the situation so please don’t flame me here.

I just graduated from a large carriers training program, got my CDL, and was in my second week of the second phase of training (as a co-driver). While he was sleeping I had an accident on private property where I clipped a building and tore up the trailer. The police say it’s a “non-reportable” accident, but I know this company uses DAC. Obviously they released me.

My question is, since it’s so close to when I got my cdl, and not on my license record, should I just avoid mentioning it and just deal with it if it comes up? I’ve been honest to potential employers so far and obviously that’s a roadblock.... but I know not everyone uses DAC....but I also don’t want to face questions in the future. This happened just 2 days ago. Advice?

Where is your location? We need to know the hiring area you live in before we can suggest companies.

Just admit what you did to potential employers and say there's no tickets involved; you were let go because you're a new driver. Don't badmouth the company that fired you because potential employers don't want to hear that because it makes it look like you're shifting blame.
Start submitting applications and the more the better. It's best to do an online application before any phone calls; then follow up in a couple of days and call and say, "I'm checking on my job application." Ignore any "experience required" because companies bend their rules on that.
Also, if there's any smaller outfits with terminals around your area, just walk in and ask for an application and say you're looking for a driving job.

no, never leave out on any application this accident. IT IS on your work history, and most likely WILL BE on your DAC,

if you lie, or omit information, you will either be fired (again) when they find out or you just won;t be hired at all.

be upfront, and mention in the application that "you learned from this mistake", and that is to BE MORE AWARE.

Thank you for the input guys/gals. And thank you for the job links. I’ve submitted maybe 20 apps so far, talked to a few people on the phone. I will continue to trudge on and hopefully be working again soon

Idk the total costs, the roof/overhang of the building got damaged and the trailer ended up with a large (8+ foot long) tear completely through the side. Yes I know I’m a ####### and yes I know I shouldn’t be driving (said it before the usual trolls come crawling out of the woodwork)
