Yes they do have company drivers and yes qualcomms are mandatory and installed on all trucks company, lease or OO. And they are on Elogs.

Mike my friend you are very wrong there are still lots of company drivers here. I was at the awards banquet and there were lots present. Also they have been turning in alot of the older Columbias and mid roofs they have and company drivers a few have been issued the new 2011s

Texas, are you a lease or company driver? How many miles are company drivers averaging these days? I am in school right now and have been looking at different companies, including Earl Henderson. Unless something unforseen happens, I have a pre-hire from them.

I have been a lease op with Henderson since 09. I avg about 5500 miles a wk as a team some wks more some a little but I avg 22k a month. I go home for abt 6 days a month. There are teams that do more and teams that do less. My cousin and I get after it when we are out than go in. I have little ones so I don't stay out long.

My pay for over 3 yrs there has always been put on my Comdata card and than you can deposit it to whatever account you choose. Henderson is a good company not perfect but still good. Like any company everyone is not going to agree or be happy. Have I been mad or ticked off or had to do a load I didn't like of course but I will say this it's all in the way you handle yourself. I do not turn down loads even though every lease op can. I let my DM know I am not thrilled about the preplan and she lets me know why or explains to me the deal it can be to get me to a better area , cover a customer load or the only thing available. But know this when I do get these loads she makes sure she remembers and lets the planners know. It is simple you prove urself and develop relationships instead of antagonizing people the result will work in your favor.

Hey just wondering if things are still picking up at Henderson. I am currently in school with two weeks left and seen a ad for them that they will hire students. Would really like to go with a bit smaller company like Henderson instead of Werner which has already sent me a pre-hire (but who cant get a pre-hire from Werner).
What are the miles like for a company driver these days?
Can someone tell me if they route you or can you pick your own route as long as you get it there on time?
I am assuming hometime is the standard 1 day for every week out?
Is there much freight in the Texas area?
I sent in my application last night so hopefully I will hear something soon. -

Well if you are company for the most part they do route you. And it has been a good company even better for teams. I run team and that side is going through some changes. Henderson is a major produce hauler back to some pretty big customers that we drop and hook at in the midwest, we use Conway drop and hook to get us out west LA, SAC Portland, Washington and so forth these are daily drop and hook loads which is important cause the planners for the west get you preplanned prior to ur arrival coming right back to the Midwest. Now they told us there will be no more conway lds by the end of the month I was told Conway wanted us to haul hazmat and we are not certifed to do that and that their rate is cheap. They said they are picking up new contracts to get us to Utah and Southern Cal and we do have alot of freight that goes to LA from Customers in the midwest and Ark the issue is the amt of time is on the loads is 5 to 7 days mostly and we do not have a yard on the west coast which means unless you get a swap ur gonna have to dlvr. I heard solos will not be going out west due to the shortage of loads going out there to get that produce for the teams.
