In answer to this question, let me ask you one.
The company that you started with did or do they use the DAC?
Not all companies use the DAC, they have to pay money to put things on this report.
If the company you worked for was or is a small carrier vs the big name carriers this may be a reason that the company doesn't show up. -
I just noticed that you only worked for this company two in a half months. I still go by my first response.
If you left on good terms with this company you can always call them up and see if they report anything to DAC.
If they do report to DAC (the recording also states something about 30 or 60 days before anything shows up from the company. If you left this company give it a count the days that you left the company and redo the request for infomation.
That way you van get an updated version of your DAC. -
It was very very easy to get my DAC report.
I called USIS they answered the phone in a very short period of time. They sent me a DAC request form immediately. I filled it out and they sent me a copy. It got to me in the time frame they state. There was nothing on it. Nothing showed up that was over 10 years old. NOTHING.
Keep in mind I don't have a CDL and have never driven for a company.
How do companies get there information. Do they get it from the DAC ONLY or do they have other sources? What are the other sources?Last edited: Sep 5, 2008

if u can try to get on with averitt express i worked there for allmost to years its not a bad company they did have trainers there and they pay u $400 per week while driving with a trainer and the insurance isnt bad. but they are very strick i got fired for bending a fence pole and not reporting it so report everything.... even a scratch.

so credit reports are on your dac? I am looking to get my cdl but my credit is ####. Will that effect my ability to get an otr position?
-
BUT, USIS, who runs DAC, is also a clearing house for both criminal and credit background checks. I HAVE noticed a criminal check was run by potential employers along with my DAC report twice this past summer.
I have never seen evidence that my credit has been checked (and by law they have to notify you) by a trucking firm for whom I've signed a DAC release.
