This is going to be great! I said it over a year ago that CSA will actually be good for drivers! I also said that DAC/HireRight or whatever they are going by this week will pretty much be a gonner as who cares what some BFI clicked on the report sheet about a driver when CSA will prove them pretty much to be nitpicky! Companies want no points! A great reason drivers need to just follow those written rules in the FMCSA AND the 2 drivers manuals! 2 you ask? Yes the one you got for that class F licence (car) and then the class A and the extras! The F covers all the signs and basic rules of the road which are also what you follow with the A! A bunch of drivers seem to think those rules don't apply to them! Well, reread those books and keep your self in the "No Pointer" class of drivers and stay hired as in this game no points is the winning number! Anything hirer in points will make keeping a job as a driver pretty much a no go!

Companies are going to want those No Pointers (a CSA no points on file or record driver) over some BS button got pushed that driver was late on a load with nothing to show it was because a moron DM couldn't figure out 800 miles into 11 hours driving time or that driver quit because of the same stupidity! We've all heard or lived the stories!

That's the reason I believe that ANY report given to DAC/HireRight MUST be accompanied by a 500 word paragraph written by the reporting company outlining what the driver did! I also feel that DAC/HireRight MUST run a plagiarizing checker program on EVERY report so these companies are NOT doing a cut and paste to keep THEIR costs down when reporting a driver!

The company gets a discount or payment for each and every report they make so make the company must WORK for this little bit of money or compensation they get and DAC has to work to ensure that they are charging for accurate information to another company on an honest worker! (HINT: Write your congress critter about this! Or that POTUS!)

Nope! it'll put a lot of DAC/HireRight people out of work! I see a lay off there!

    BUT

    CSA will get rid of all of those "outlaw" types! You know the ones;
the ones that have 2 or 3 log books going,
    speed all the time
have several videos on line by that "watchmytruck" guy as that's how they drive.
Get a lot of writeups by DOT because they do a PTI from the seat and drive a truck around you, your wife, kids, parents and others with equipment that's about to kill one of them or so stupidly they are a danger to everyone because "they gots to go!"
Do what some BFI says do and drive that truck needing repairs back to the shop 2000 miles knowing it needs to be done on the road.

CSA is going to force companies to change to comply with all the FMCSA and not the ones they want to.

It's going to make these college educated Dispatchers, load coordinators, safety directors and CEO's with no freaking clue get in line and figure out where they are screwing up and fall in line. It's going to affect their bottom line also.

This is going to reward those of you who follow the rules.
If you do as FMCSA says and are a "No Pointer" then you'll be the first in line for that job or at the top of the pile as no trucking company is going to hire "Billy Big Rigger" with a scorecard full of points! They don't want them on their record so ole Billy will be sitting on the front porch in the rocking chair waiting for his shift at the burger joint if they'll hire out of work truckers!

Yes trucking ain't what it used to be!
I know been in it for many years but it sure ain't going to ever be what it was!
The times, they are a changing and trying to stop these new changes will be like peeing against the wind or shoveling the tide with a spoon OR arguing with a trucker!

Us old hands if we can't adapt will be left standing on the side of the road. Those who have been "good boys and girls" with how they did their jobs will stand at the front of the line. They don't want points and that's a good thing!

Us older hands got our tickets our DOT writeup and the companies paid for a lot of them BUT now the blame is going to fall on the one responsible!

    YES! US
the driver, as there is a little 2 letter word called NO that we can use but a lot of you don't have the danglies to use!
AS I said every company will HAVE to fall in line and do what should have been done! You all complain that OH they MAKE me drive illegally to make that HOT delivery,
    OR
They MAKE me drive an unsafe truck
    OR
Make me do this and that when YOU are the one behind the wheel!

    That little one liner that goes;

    JUST SAY NO!
Applies to every one of you!
If they fire you for saying No, then they did you a favor as you didn't get a point on the CSA scorecard and that BFI DAC/HireRight really won't matter that much will it?
Say Goodbye to DAC/HireRight unless THEY change their reporting practices that I outlined above!

    123456 Thanks this.

Good old JPT. I had a truck back into me while I was setting in the truckstop eating and they listed it on DAC as a preventable accident. When I decided to quit after several years of service, I gave them 2 weeks notice, and returned their truck to Salina, Kansas 4 days BEYOND my 2 week notice because they had trouble getting the truck routed back to Salina. They listed that I had abandoned the truck under a load.

What they didn't list on DAC was my 3 trainer of the month awards, the 14 clean truck of the month awards, or the 8 high mileage of the month awards with their 55mph truck.

I thought my dedication and company spirit meant something to them, but found out I was very wrong.

The Bad thing about a DAC Report is the company you work for or have worked for can put anything they want on to your DAC Report, true or false. You can clear your report if you hire an Attorney to do so. I had a friend who was fired, and the company falsified the reason for his termination, and he did have it removed. It cost him legal fees, but he said it was worth it just to show the trucking company they can't get away with whatever they darn well please!!!

Dac originally started out as D-A-C Services. it stood for drive-a-check. They have since changed their name at least two times I am aware of. The first name change was to USIS. US investigation services. Now they go by HIRERIGHT SOLUTIONS. They have been sued by OOIDA: Owner Operator Independent Driver Associaton several times. It seem everytime DAC gets hit with a class action lawsuit they change their name or claim they merged with another company. Dac only get the companies side of the story because they pay to us DAC. I am a member of OODIA and have been for 5 years. I hope they file another class action lawsuit against DAC soon. There are many drivers out there that have been unable to find any work because of his/her Dac report. Let's all stick together to have DAC, HIRE RIGHT or whatever name they are going by this week, and have these scumbags close their doors permenantly.

My company is a captive of a larger concern and we never had DAC or Hireright until the bigger company decided to have them vet prospective employees in the plant itself, then, because the subscription was paid, we have a Hireright report on us, too.

They do more than just take a company's word, because they do a records check. It's not so much to worry about if you haven't been trucking, your personal MVR isn't bad, and you have been doing something with documentation, either school or work. Unemployed for long periods or being disabled and trying to go back to work are two red flags for employment in training companies.
