Sun glasses. Also pack shower items. Towel. The towel is handy for more than shower if you get caught out in a down pore and get drenched to the skin do the outside the truck things at shipper/receivers. Shower shoes (you don't want to know what lurks in the truck stop showers), other shower basics. Sipper bottle for water. Try not to drink extra calories of soda. Search Trucker report for lists of items to take. There have been several created over the years. Might just jog the brain on something you have forgotten.

Light as you can. Only out a week with TE, the rest is hotel time. Remember you are a guest in someone elses "home". Maybe transient flophouse is a truer statement!!!!

Lol transient flop house. Thats good. Ive been doing my fair share of reading here. Im shure i have a good list at the moment, as im well versed in camping and travel. I wasnt shure if there was anything specific i should have for schenider specific training. I appriciate the input.

Dallas...that OC looks and feels like it was paved with an air strike.
drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
Well hopefully after training i wont have to spend too much time there. But wih the costco depot just down the road aways, I probably wont get that lucky.

OC has laundry as I am sure the motel does too. Don't take liquid soap. It can get messy if it leaks. Pack a bit of laundry soap. A bit of powder in a zip lock bag works. Make sure it is old fashioned soap not the new kind for the HE washer. Most truck stops and the OCs have older style washers. Ah the Cosco account. I was one of the original company drivers hired for it when it started in Sept 2008. New account that was a cluster. All the problems on that account back when is what catapulted me into buying my first truck and going as an owner operator. I'm sure things have smooth out since then.

Dunno. They just opened a costco about 20 min from my house. So im lucky to land it as a new guy. Im curious with the emptys on the return trip do you get paid for those miles.
-
Ah so something new in KS. Should be paid for all miles dispatched. They will do everything they can not to run you back empty. We would deliver at one of the 3 stores in Houston then have to run across town to Kroger and get a load of pallets. San Antonio was also pallets. Then we were expected to deliver those up in north Fort Worth the next day. That prevented us from getting back under a Cosco load for one day. Miles sucked and you were lucky to get a 34 hour reset on the weekend. I put up with the crap for 8 months.

Ok well at least its something. Dunno what there is around here to haul back thats not an hour or so north. I just hope to run out of hours when im in wichita.
