OMG!! You bunch of boring old farts! Invest this, invest that, pay down your interest blah blah. My house is paid blah blah, you might fall over with a stroke tomorrow - stone cold - no good then is it.

Take the cash, buy a W900 with ARI sleeper, drive to the chrome shop, chrome will improve MPGs. Frickin' enjoy what your doing, leave that job you hate and go live a little. One day you will be on your death bed staring at the ceiling wondering why you didn't. You won't be laying there thankful you paid down the interest on the house and now your kids can clean up and do what they want to do.

Yeah...do that, then wake up one morning under the railroad bridge after you've lost everything and wish you could get your hands on the moron whose advice you followed. Age gives you wisdom. Too bad the young won't use it most of the time.

In all honesty are you thinking long term? If so buying a truck within next 2-3 months of recommend it. You would get a good deal. Better than most guys did in last few years. However before that make sure you do your homework with who you will haul for. You can make a great career from it, just have to do it the smart way and not like most of the blind guys who think they can buy them self a job.

A friend of mine bought a 80k peterbuilt a year ago. Same dealer, same truck is now priced at 40k.

Sounds like you didn't come into that much then. I thought maybe you were talking like enough to buy a truck with cash. I would not finance a truck right now especially if you don't have the work for it already lined up.

I bought a truck and trailer in the last month with cash and it makes me nervous and I have no payments to make.

Just starting out you need as little of debt as possible and a decent emergency fund maybe 10-20k minimum set aside for when #### happens because with big trucks #### happens and it ain't cheap. Sure some people without a penny to their name find a way to finance a truck and get lucky and make it but the vast majority who are not set up financially for the new venture fail.
