I learned my lesson from my trainer on my first run:

Trainer: Why are you tailgating that guy?
Me: He's not going fast enough.
Trainer: How fast is he going?
    Me: The speed limit.
Trainer: Then he's obeying the law. Back off.

First of all, you don't tell another member to shut up on this forum

Second, you don't even identify yourself as a driver, yet you are going to pontificate to him about what in YOUR mind is a lack of experience? Have I been driving long enough for your approval?

We don't do that here. Got it?

What you fail to understand is the value of the Smith system not only to those who actually DO drive like they have a brain, but to rookies who need a model to train with. Stunt driving on a closed course hardly qualifies one for operating a CMV on a public thorofare. You have old truckers, BOLD truckers, but very rarely those who are both.

So I suggest you take the time to learn a few things from our more experienced members before you see fit to talk down to anyone here. And lose the attitude before you wind up getting shown the door.

You put a lot of faith in the guy you're 'drafting'.

I don't care how good your reactions are or what your training is, when that guy you're drafting turns out to be one of those drivers who manages to run into a stopped truck, you won't react in time.

People that feel the need to go out on public thorofares and act stupid are generally Darwin Awards waiting to happen. In some cases it leads to addition by subtraction. But one can only hope they don't take any innocent bystanders with them.

I agree. You are just one punctured brake system from testing the ICC bumper on that trailer.
