    OK so let's say he took a job at Prime and they got him his CDL somehow. He agreed to stay for a year. Then prime put him in a truck with a "unsafe" lawbreaking trainer and he quit. Is that right?

    He wasn't an employee of prime during the CDL training. But yes Going off the one post yes the trainer he was given sucked and he should had requested a new trainer and not quit.

    @Sneakerfix

    Exactly what I thought. If you don't ask for a new trainer, go back to the terminal. Then Wait on it. The company can't fix it. You can't assume all of the trainers are that bad.

    But then, even with all the great advice here... People still go with these companies.

    Ahh. That muddies things doesn't it. Interesting.

    Well maybe. I wouldn't want to be in the truck with a guy I ratted out so I disagree on that. He said he showed the video to safety. That should have been enough to get him a new trainer. Not sure why he would have to ask after showing the video. But the point is moot now.

    I still wouldnt pay anything. For all we know it could be a scam between the CDL company and Prime to get them to quit.

    Maybe he should have called 911 on the trainer.

    In any case, Prime should still just offer him another trainer and carry on. Best thing for everyone. Now, if the OP doesn't take the offer........ Hmmm

    You have to look at the ops other post to get an idea he wasn't really into being over the road his main thing that bugged him was that he couldn't sleep because of the mobile eye going off and he was also looking for local work during the training so to me he had his eyes set on leaving anyway

    Prime, Swift, etc...you go to their school, you sign a contract to pay them back for that schooling, and work over the next year or so to pay it off. The school is a service.

    He got the cdl. He got the service. Can't cut the mustard fine but you still got to pay for the services.

    Sorry I just don't agree. Contract or no, the company has no right to put my life in danger. The OP quit out of necessity. I wouldn't pay a cent. They will never take me to court because the video exonerates me and makes them look ridiculous.

    If the training company wants to collect from someone, They should collect from the trucking company because they made it impossible for the op to honor the contract.

    They might send it to collections but I would dispute it. They would never get a penny.

    sounds like they beached their own contract....
    Any contract that disregards the law is voided
    Your video will prove that
    If they still want to push it? Show that video to the authorities and I'm sure they will change their tune about this whole thing real fast
