Yes I pay myself a salary of $1000.00 per week,I also have another profession that gives me some income, but thats plenty for me, my wife also owns a business, and I have invested well over the years, but $1000.00 a week is probally not going to cut it for some people with a 250,000 house and 2 car payments and credit cards out the wazoo.....Everything I have is paid for, If you cannot live on $1000.00 per week then lease purchase probally is not a good route. Also I reinvest in my truck to improve fuel economy, which btw was 8.4 mpg for the entire week this week, I drive slow and I drive right, because fuel mileage is the only thing you can control as a driver to increase profitability...I stretch every dime until it breaks, I buy oil and other items at Sam's Club and Walmart,I shop around for my maintance, I do not buy anything except fuel from truckstops, face it at $1.04 per loaded mile plus fsc, you have to scrimp and save. Also if you haven't noticed according to the national spot market on rates they are tumbling all over the country for van and flatbed, the shippers have realized fuel is dropping, so rates are dropping. If you have any other questions about MY business fire away I am an open book.Next we will examine your business okay?

Yes there is a residual, depends on the truck
-
Yes they are, but they make money, also the account I am on requires us to SOMETIMES haul 48,000#,we get paid a higher rate to haul heavy, though I rarely am over 70,000# gross, Our trucks are also spec'd for regional operations, I can legally scale 48,000# with room to spare if its loaded correctly. But if you need a truck that is a status symbol lease somewhere else for $1000.00 per week and make .90 cpm (JCT)or .84 cpm (TransAM)

or you can trade every 3 years, also the truck payment drops yearly

Shouldn't have any affect on a mileage contract, only in the fscdrvrtech77 Thanks this.

My advice to you, is to look at my previous post and run the numbers, now his dedicated might pay differently, run the numbers over and over again and make sure you do not have too much overhead at home, make sure he can live on 1000.00 per week.I don't advise leasing, for novices, or those with a lot of home obligations and low tolerance for stress.Tell recruiting to send you the spreadsheet they have that you can plug the numbers into and see how it effects your bottom line, Good luck, also when dealing with highway sales, see if they have any new lease turn ins it will save you about 200.00 per week on truck payment, mine only had 36,000 miles when I got it

oh I agree, I am glad I am in a mileage contract..I have friends who were laughing it up when they were making 1.50 a mile pulling a van, those same friends are now down to close to where I am at with higher expenses than I have,I have a friend of mine at Roadrunner who pulled a load from Nashville to Seattle for 1.10+fsc, that lane used to pay 1.35+fsc not 3 months ago, i told him he was crazy to pull to the Northwest for that but he learned...
