Videos only matter when they are given points. You can have a video in the system but if there’s no points given that means they reviewed it and didn’t think it deserved any action on their part. If you only have three points it’s not a big deal.

Call your DM and just be honest and say that you want to do a good job and you’re concerned about drive cam videos and want to get it resolved so there aren’t issues moving forward. They should go over the videos and point system with you so at least you will know exactly what you are dealing with.

The videos that require some level of coaching are the ones that may have points attached.
I have videos all the time, but they are all (except for those few) resolved with no interaction from myself.
My DM looks at it and either clears or lets me know there is a video that needs my input.
Usually it is only leaving a comment explaining what happened and how I can prevent such things in the future.

Things like running a stop sign (and a rolling stop is considered running it) can not be explained away, and following too closely for too long is pretty hard to justify too. Those will have some points.

Yeah everyone else here pretty much covered it. Just because you have a video event doesn't mean it count against you. Just check your actual SPS score in the driver portal. That's what counts. You can get like 60 some odd points before safety fires you.

I know several of our most experienced drivers over in flatbed usually end up with 20 or so every quarter. Just because the camera system dosent understand that oversize loads require you to do weird #### sometimes.

When i was hauling all them 12 wides i had 172 lane departures in like a month. My DM had a very heated discussion with saftey.

On the filp side, ive had over 20 legit and no one cared, cause SoCal.

Every 3 months they drop all your points off and you start again fresh.

I mean really the most heat I've ever got. Was because my air freshener wrapped around the camera and blocked it. And I told them i already fixed the problem.

And doing about 60 in a 50 in NV. Even though the section of the video was actually from before the speed limit change.

Yikes, that #### camera claims another victim... trust me when I say that they will never explain exactly what the parameters are for it; you'll have to feel them out, by which time you'll reach the point that Vic is done with you. With 17 events at 24 points a piece, I'm assuming that's over the course of more than just 90 days since you're still with them... so my question is what's your current score? They can and do fire you at about 125... speaking from experience, BTW. I remember that the programming has tight trigger conditions, and I'd like to help keep another driver from falling victim to the ######## that got me if possible

What gets people in trouble is not just the dash cam, it is how they drive in general.

The cam may highlight it, but it is the driver that is being unsafe that causes it.

One of the reasons they harped on following distance is that if you have a front end collision, your fault, it is automatic termination. I'd it is provable that it was not your fault and basically unavoidable, then it is a different story. One of the several reasons I've purchased my own dashcam. One that I have access to and that has more than just a few seconds before and after an event. I'm also thinking of upgrading to a 3 camera system that records your sides besides the front. Often times, things are happening on your sides that will effect things and the front camera view can easily miss it. BTW, as I understand it, their camera will catch some of the sides from the 2 mirror mounted on the front of the hood. But, still, alot can be missed.
I think, in my opinion, the biggest and most consistently cringe worthy thing I see other truckers do is following too close.
