There is a difference between having a backbone and knowing common sense safety, as per my other comment about safety. Drivers can protest about the wrong things and lose out all together. The are more people in this world to replace your job as a truck driver, hence the multitude of Trucker schools. The demand for drivers is not as huge as they make it look. There are more trucks on the road today than there was 50 years ago, flooding the market, causing many truckers to sit looking for that one good pay load. The Trucking industry is a demanding one in the sense that it does keep the country moving, along with giving jobs to those who work in warehouses and in general stores across the land. Truly if Trucking stopped, America would too, as well as other countries that depend much on the movement of freight to survive. Nit picking reasons of safety is not a good reason to stop the trucks. A really good reason to stop trucks would be to get these aggressive auto drivers to stop driving records around truckers, as well as ring other aggressive truckers to stop. How, by insisting tougher laws with extreme fines and penalties against these aggressive driving habits. Many people don't get it. Driving if not one's right, it's a privilege, always has been. Should anyone abuse this privilege, simply revoke their license
