I have a 2003 volvo s60, but my situation is different. The whole dash panel lights and guages sporadically go off, what happens that alerts me its about to go off is all the warning lights on the bottom right hand corner will come on all at once (abs light, traction, etc.) Then the whole panel goes out all at once, the guages will just drop to zero and none of the lights will work even the turn signals won't work on the panel, but all exterior lights including turn signals, you just can't see them blinking on the dash, unless its The check engine light (it's not on, it was at one time, but it was resolved). I've inspected the fuses including a family member as well, we both didn't see any blown fuses or bad wiring as far as we could see. I found though when the cluster panel goes out, if I removed the fuse, wiped it off even though it was fine or used a brand new fuse then reinserted the fuse, the dash panel will come right back on, each time the panel went out, I did the same thing each time and the panel came right back on. Nothing else is affected on the car, it's only on the dash panel. If I drive the car it goes out and I pull off the road, take the fuse out and reinsert it and it comes back on, needless to say I'm not going far if I do drive my car, I avoid highways and rush hour/heavy traffic and will go no more than a few miles away from my home. I've heard of cluster failure being common among volvos, but why does mine go back to working after pulling and reinserting the fuse?
Dash lights go out.
