Maybe you could figure out a foot shifter.

    LameMule Thanks this.

If you could find an electric air switch maybe you could put it on the horn button in the middle of the steering wheel.

    LameMule Thanks this.

Believe it or not there’s and old thread here where someone already did that...

I’m guessing reaching out 2-3 times in a day average to hit a switch in the dash is too much for you...

Curious would you still have to go through neutral or would range select be instant . Just trying to imagine the shift procedure .

2/3 times? Even if you pulled out of a truck stop in Cheyenne Wy onto 80 and drove east for your full 11 you would have to select no less then 6 times on a perfect day.
Guess you could be lugging her down in 6 if you have a 10.
I'm like the other op, don't even like reaching for the Jake; most of the time I just leave on and feather throttle to deactivate.

Dino soar and 91B20H8 Thank this.

Ok,,, I-40 from Amarillo to Memphis, perfect conditions, would be 10 times.
To much work, time to move on to another tread.

I couldn't even begin to count the amount of times in a day that I go from low to hi or back down.
You are trying to make something that is quite simple and efficient into a more complicated and confusing task.
For some reason the majority of people here feel like the range selector on the shifter equates to sliced bread, perhaps they have experience on the subject?

If you're trying to build a rat rod show truck then I'm all for the cool factor of dash mounted doo dads and square wheels. If you are going to be working and living in the truck my advice is comfort and efficiency.
