    The board is how many get started . I made many contacts through the board and learned who had the freight in certain cities and it can be a good evaluation tool . Nowadays I only work with 4 or 5 proven Brokers and have one Contract that pays well . Also a lot of the top brokerages have in house load boards for free , make a contact and they will call you before freight ever ends up on the loadboards .

    Thanks for all the smart-### replies, about what I expected. I have dedicated contracts set up but I want to see what local loads are going for in case poo hits the fan. Guess I'll just drop rates for you all instead !

    Honestly, I'm not sure he's even running at all yet. If you've been running long enough to have dedicated customers, you probably don't need to ask why you display GVW on the door, or whether or not a shady truck dealer is a good place to buy a truck.
