    Many places don't want them covered in dirt and salt. Running pipe from Illinois up to Williston, ND was a good gig before it all ended. It paid so well me and 3 other truckers agreed to take all the loads. We would dead head back 1,000 miles to get another one.

    I understand that but then they should pay should for it. Otherwise, you get what you pay for. That had to pay well to warrant a 1,000 mile deadhead!

    Yes, it did pay well. I never made so much money when my wheels were turning non stop. It's better to make $1.60 running non stop then to make $2.50 every once in a while. It's also nice to run back empty. That always made me happy to drive instead of brake, jake, shift, floor it....repeat. Just set the cruise and sit back.
