Well you can always make that comment to DAT customer service. I have and others I know have. But apparently not enough people want to see it.
You bring up another point. I know guys that do mostly open deck and over-sized or over dimensional. They say ITS is much better for that kind of freight. And then you will have people who say it is better than DAT in certain regions.
For me in the SE and MW regions running a 53' dry van and/or 53' reefer I get better loads and brokers from DAT. To be fair someone should try either board for a while on its own and see what they like best. I only used ITS for several years before I switched to DAT Power and dropped ITS for good.
DAT Power vs. ITS Pro?

Is DAT Power the same as Trucker's Edge?

LandslideRich Thanks this.

yes 150 a month. This is the same train but a better class. Worth the money or not? We'll see I just got on it. Its interface is better over TruckersEdge so my eyes won't hurt and it has more gadgets. To tell you the truth this should be the standard for 50$ in this day and age. But I won't cry over 100 buck more a month especially that this is the only loadboard I use. For the sake of curiosity, I will try ITS Pro at some point to have a comparison.

It's worth it. I routinely continue to get calls on posts 20-30 minutes after my post goes down from Truckers Edge people. I'd probably go with either ITS pro or DAT Power. I don't think there's a good reason to get Truckers Edge.
FWIW I think that for anyone with more than 1-2 loads to cover a day buying both is probably not a bad idea. There are brokerages and trucking companies that just use one, so it pays to have both covered.
EDIT: This is an information driven market. I'm not sure that anybody with more than 1 truck can claim that cutting down on how much information they have is a great business strategy. Nearly all of you should be signed up to get the XPO emails and have everything you need for CH. I consider all of that stuff to be mandatory for the professional dispatcher.xsetra and bbechtel16 Thank this. -
Power is definitely worth the money even more so in a tight market with few options. Truckers edge is a waste of bandwidth. Information has value. Funny you will see guys piss and moan about the same things over and over with the lower tiered subscriptions and unwilling to invest what I consider chump change $150 a month into a useful tool for their business. Actually a necessary one if you depend on brokers.
Oxbow, bbechtel16 and Cummimgs Trucking LLC Thank this. -
I used the DAT Power a while and I thought I wanted to be frugal and downgraded to the truckersedge. I must say calmly that I did not like it (truckersedge) and I admittedly realized that I wanted to be too cheap. So...I went back to DAT Power. I still think they charge too much, but they do it because they can. I'd do the same thing. My point is that DAT power is good and feels good and you don't know it until you use it and then try to use something cheaper.
I will try the ITS pro version for a month or two, willing to pay that much so I can compare. Any of you solos prefer ITS to DAT power or is there a better load board if you rely on them loadboards? -
Let us know your thoughts after you use ITS. I'm curious because I use ITS and truckersedge. I've considered DAT Powa but people say TE/DAT have the same loads but with delay. TE always seems to have about half as many loads (at least for me).
