I only kept DAT for checking out the going rate in various lanes, but I just cancelled my subscription. Haven't booked a load on there in well over a year.

To be fair, neither did I. But it is more than a platform to book a load. It gives an idea what trends are and how high I can aim. The very number of loads in an area radius is meaningful. Even when you book a load from megas own loadboards, this will help to know what rates to ask e.i not to undercut but not to overshoot either, so that you won't be left empty handed.
Without it, I might still be thinking that 3 dol per mile is very good.
Of course, we can still use our other famous thread for reference too lol.Midwest Trucker and SteveScott Thank this. -
I cancelled them last month. I use Truckstop. When Truckstop got wonkie awhile back I got peeved and ordered up DAT. I don’t like the interface and Truckstop got it stuff together (or I figured it out) and I use them or open deck.

It's not software. What you're paying for is real-time information that has a certain value, regardless of the hardware and people it takes to get it in front of you. If you believe the value is not up to the cost of the subscription, there are other sources for similar information. No different than any other service offered to carriers.86scotty and SteveScott Thank this.

You're absolutely right. I bought two and I'm twice as rich. This is me checking in at Walmart last week.
