Am glad you are doing so good! I have been here nearly a year and I have watched my paycheck fall each week. Am gonna have to take up a job shining wheels in the T/A lot just to have a litte residual income to help pay the bills at home. I have been listening to Jimmy Davis preach about how we are going to survive all of the economic turmoil "with a lot of dedication from our drivers" and alot of work from our planners. We have just recently lost one of the accounts that had some of the best miles on it (Kraft out of Norcross, Ga) and oh boy, we get more Publix store loads!!! Big freakin deal! Now instead of getting empty in the Atlanta area and picking up at Kraft, I can go sit the day away in Dacula and hope that I get one of the loads out of there. I really thought coming to this company was gonna be a good move. Was I ever mistaken!![]()

Hey crazy train, I wa just thinking of coming over there to see if they are hiring. What kinda miles you getting? If I live in th Tampa area will they let me take the truck home?
I work local down in Tampa, the place I work for is not a matter of if, its when we will close the doors. They cut all vacation ( 2weeks) only 4 paid holidays now rest are no pay, and health insurance went up $125 a month to $225 a month, Is Davis better than that? But If I live in th Tampa area will they let me take the truck home? -
Hey trucker looking for driver who worked at Davis out of Starke, Fl,
I would not drive for those SOB'S (SHORTNESS OF BREATH'S -- just to keep it clean!!!) My REASONS Are:
They are L I A R S!! AND they are L Y I N G L I A R S!! and finally if you cross them they will try to F... you ("fetter ur crank klack" ---just to keep it clean!!!) because they are L I A R S!!!
Next, they run you outlaw ALL..... THE...... TIME.....!!!!
They let you make money at first then they will slack off on purpose.
They change their rules without telling you about it but hold responsible for knowing them!!!
They keep you up all day waiting for a load they SAID WAS ALREADY TO GO BUT IT WASN'T then E X P E C T YOU TO DRIVE ALL NIGHT TO GET IT THERE ON TIME AND W I T H I N THE HOURS OF SERVICE.... RIGHT!!!
Safety dept demands current truthful logs when THEY KNOW HOW the runs are, see ABOVE REASON to understand!!!
They set their trucks to only run at 68mph make you leave late waiting for NOT READY LOADS and EXPECT YOU TO get it to its destination on-time
and call you SEVERAL TIMES TO SEE IF YOU'RE THERE YET!!! AFTER they know what time you left!!!
You can be at the shipper or receiver on time on the property, but if you don't punch it in the Qual-COMM at the EXACT TIME OF THE SCHEDULED ARRIVAL..... YOU ARE CONSIDERED BY THIS COMPANY TO BE LATE!!!!
LAST, but not least, there are a couple of people in the office in management WHO DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING and they ARE VINDICTIVE AND WILL get you back if you tell them about themselves, in other words.....THEY'RE L I A R S, AGAIN THEY ARE LYING LIARS AND WILL LIE ON YOU TO YOUR HURT!!! -
Well, sounds like someone got fired! I have worked for davis for 2 years now, i've never been lied too, we run e log's so there is no "outlaw running", i sleep 10 hours every night/day depending on where i'm running, they tell you up from that they run 80% night time driving, i live in panama city fl and go thru the house during the week and home every other weekend. I've never had trouble getting home for faimly stuff, hoidays or time off. They have never called me to see if i'm gonna be on time because i am never late. I guess if your a driver thats always late they would call you, i don't know, never heard of that one. are trucks run 65mph and have plenty of time to get to where i'm going. Yes there was a time we use to run hard and we all miss it, but it's also nice to sleep 10 hours a day and still get my miles every week. buttercup2 sounds like you had a hard time here, but for any one else that might be intrested in davis express don't believe everything you hear

Does anyone have any info on Davis Express? Im thiinking about going to work for them and was wondering if anyone has some info on them?
Thanks -
try NFI in orlando, they are always looking for drivers
-
But Davis is 10 times better !!!!
-
Yeah that seem like a better place and as far as i can see on there web site thay pay good per mile but are the miles there just for running the southeast?
-
Klown did you go to work for davis express?
-
I talked to a Davis driver, and they recently got audited by the DOT, and now they have to run STRICTLY legal. They run a lot of Publix stores, etc. Driver was not happy about having to actually take 10 hours off duty and get up at 2 am and start driving every day.
