Thanks. My gut instinct is that they are a good fit for me. Good luck to you as well. Like you, I was hard pressed to find any negatives about Maverick. Everyone appears to be happy there and that's a good thing. They were at the top of my list until the recruiter told me I was just outside their hiring area.

july 9th huh....lemme see if i can get there just to harrass you devildice
if nothin else ill get some of the office girls to give you hell for me....you're not annoyed by "seaman" jokes are ya?.....

i seriously think youll like it here...keep in mind things will be slow (load preplanning and such) till youve run for awhile and they figure out you can do what you say you will

dont let guy freak you out...its not as hard or scary as he makes it sound

    1 last thing....ok 2 last things
hold out for a truck with two stacks...they just look better (+1 in cool factor)
get the trucks history from the shop guys...you dont want nothing that has been in a major accident...scraps are ok but no rollovers

bring it on..:yes2557: I can take it as well as I dish it out......and I have yet to find any joke that offends me.

I asked Pat specifically if there was anything she could do to help ensure that I DON'T get a truck that was in an accident and might be "jinxed"......she assures me no problem. But we'll see.......

I look forward to meeting some day when out paths cross. And when we do, dinner's on me!

good deal....dont let them bs you about this is the only truck we've got....there are around 10 empty right now...the shop guys do a good job cleaning them up for you but, as in the military....inspect the hell outta it, make sure every little scratch is noted so, not sayin they will, try and blame it on you

pay close attention to what christine and sharlene tell you...they are the two most important people there in my eyes ( insurance and logs)

once again....you'll need to remember this tuesday and wensday....dont let guy scare you, its his job i know, but dont let him make you afriad of the stuff we hual

have fun at the wye west, ask around about who to avoid in that joint and basicly just enjoy it.....get to know everyone and they'll treat ya right

catch ya on the big street

Hey Broncrider!!! No B.S. how often does Davis get you home. I had a buddy drive for them right out of school and he said they kept him out for 6 weeks at a time. is that standard? I have heard many good things about Davis, but have heard the hometime sucks. Whats the scoop???

hometime....like any company...varies on frieght AND DRIVER REQUESTS

as a company driver i never had problems being hoime when i wanted to be, but i reminded my dispatchers and FM daily of my date due home from about 2 weeks out...just to make sure they didnt forget, which happens, and sometimes they forget to enter it in the computer, or just miss it when givin you your load info
they try to get you home a day early, but you can end up a day late if they cant find a load, or they will just deadhead you home....ive heard of as much as 700 miles from a differnt forum ( verified by a dispatcher later)

as an o/o....im home whenever i darn well feel like it...lol
but i try to stay out and earn money, and take loads that go near the house so i can sneak in a few days here and there

dont quote me (i dont have an empoyee manual handy at the moment)
but i think the policy is 1.5 days off for every 7 out ( includes reset), but to be sure youd hafta ask a requiter (sp?) i could very well be wrong

as with everything else in trucking...communication is key
and any shortcomings they try to make it up to you

    Hey guys

I belive that Pat at Davis says that for every 7 out you get 1 off but they also tell you that they like to keep you running.

It has been about 60 days since I have talked to her so I may have forgot a few things.

That is if I rember right I was going to go with Davis but I do not like the ideal of tarping most of the loads.

Rember the more your wheels are turning the more money you make.

I spoke with Pat last week. She said they like to keep their drivers out for 4 weeks at a time. I like that they are a small company and look forward to hearing about your experience at training devildice.

i chatted with pat today....1 day off for every 7 out.....perfer to keep you out for 4 weeks, but if you live near a frequent frieght lane you can sneak home more often...lol ( or you could just join the reserves and have to be home every 3.5 weeks)

i dont know what devildice has been up to....one of the office gals was tryin to give crap to who we thought was him....but he said he didnt know me....so she was gonna try tellin him my screen name from here an see if that rang any bells....we'll see i guess
