mods......may i inquire as to why devildice was banned.....i have been keepin tabs on him in other forum's and it seems to me his story's, while entertaining at the least, might help offer some insite to other's who are just getting started

Davis isnt the same as Davison is it? I just received an application from them and you also have to go out with another driver for a few weeks no matter how much experience you have.

Going to bring this one back alive again .... LOL

Talked to Jeanette today .... applied with them yesterday .... she called to say that they hired me on .... will be leaving here next friday the 12th of Oct for orientation in Missoula .... have a nice long bus ride ahead of me ... weee

BUT .... I did searching on here and havent found anything bad about them .... supposed to hear from Pat Ross on tuesday to confirm the date of the bus

The good thing with them they dont seem as uptight as some of these other ones .... I have my class A but have been driving class B tankers for the last 6 years .... other companies wanted me to get a refresher course on my own (some running up to $3000 for 2 weeks) not looking to do that .... Davis is willing to put me in a truck with a trainer for up to the 6 weeks .... which is what I was looking for

I know in some of the other postings .... people were talking about having to be out up to 6 weeks .... one of the reasons that I am looking to go back OTR is that I dont have a reason nor care to be home every day .... so 4 weeks out is nothing big for me to deal with .... plus they have a pet policy (I can deal with the security deposit) others wouldnt allow it .... would rather take my dogs with me than leave them with my folks

Just glad that I found a place that I can get back in the truck without putting out money for something that I really dont need .... plus the trucks that they are running are the same KW T800's that I was running with my last place .... only difference is that theirs have the trailer .... the other one had a tank on it

Dont know if you are still there Bronc .... but if so .... let me know if it is still all the same that you have said before .... looking forward to get back over the road again

nothing has changed that i know of....lol...im still here and as im told about the laziest o/o they have ( as i seem to be home for a day or two whenever i am passing thru the area)

the 6 weeks with a trainer isnt set in stone...as soon as the trainer feels yer ready, youll get to missoula and test out for your own green truck...

i still like it here...theres a little drama that goes on from time to time but nothing ever bad

LOL .... yeah show me one company that doesn't have drama in it and i will be surprised

As for the training .... that part I already figured in there .... she basically said that when they feel I am ready is when they will test me .... but I am looking at a minimum of 2 weeks with a trainer .... mostly to learn the strapping and tarping part of it

But glad to know that they are a good company to work for

Nah .... I trust ya .... I havent found anything negative about them so far other than the one saying his buddy didnt like being out 6 weeks .... but when you take the job you should already know that is a possibilty .... this aint a 9 to 5 job

Supposed to be there for orientation on the 15th .... with good ole Greyhound I will be in there sunday morning .... which is good .... gives me a chance to unwind from being on that bus some 36 hours

But if it is all that I have read so far then that is good .... hard to find a good company now a days .... I want to get in a company that is good and stay with them for awhile

Quirks is understandable .... just a matter of working thru them .... every job and company has them

I figured that this probably wouldnt be the greatest time to start .... with winter coming I am sure that it will slow a bit .... but for me .... I dont have the "normal bills" that others have .... I have my pickup truck payment and cell bill .... other than that I gave up my place and have only me to worry about .... no one at home .... the main reason that I am looking to get back on the road .... no reason nor want to be home every night

In my times off .... just going to try and split it as best as they can do between the 2 places that my kids live in (2 are over 18 and one is 15) .... and at the one will stay at my folks for the 2 days that i am in the area

Will look to get something more permanent at a future time .... just looking forward to getting back on the road again
