I don't know if it helps but I have been doing Ebay selling/consignment stuff with my family and we have an Ebay store... which is part of how I've been able to make ends meet, but not sure how that would work for employment history... Hmmm
-
If you made some income and filed a tax return on it (schedule C,) you could call it "self employment." Otherwise, anything... fast food, etc - is employment. They mostly want to make sure you're not a deadbeat who thinks that this is some kind of "Smokey and the Bandit" deal.
-
Haven't had a chance to file yet, it's just been this year.
-
Well then you get the point... sitting around at home for whatever reason isn't employment. Figure out a way to make that be self-employed, and go get a minimum wage job for awhile... and start applying.
-
I do indeed. I mean it is self-employment as we're making semi-decent money at it, it's just a home business... but we haven't been doing it long enough to have tax returns yet.
I'm willing to do whatever I need to though.
Even if it means flipping burgers for a while if they can't work with me yet.
The problem is we've been making more with the home business than I would flipping burgers.
-
...do both. You need that verifiable (meaning a real W2 employer) to get in.
-
I'll do what I can, I just know that the e-bay thing actually takes more hours than a regular job
hehe... it's a bit time consuming especially if you're keeping up on the auctions and responding/shipping in a timely manner.
