Are you trying to attend Prime's Student Driver course, and if so, did you make that clear to the recruiter? Or do you already have your CDL?

Yeah, it could help me stay out, not needing to schedule hometime, just taking it as it comes. Plus my instructor/trainer lives in Marion, IN which will be handy during the training phase. He's suggested we team after I upgrade, but I really want to run solo for awhile. Anyhow that's way down the road.

A very good, long day. Needed work on my downshifting, and voilla, we get a load through Appalacchia! My instructor was really cool. He let me make the inevitable mistakes and attempt to correct them myself , while never letting us get into any dangerous situations. Very demanding and stressful road (I-77) but I made it and actually did fairly well. A very sobering sight on the W. VA Turnpike about mile 63. A truck apparently took a turn too fast and rolled over the divider and into the SB lanes. The truck caught fire and was a smoking shell by the time we passed. No word on injuries or fatalaties. Wasn't even a heavy load. A flatbead with PVC pipes. Gotta get some sleep. Expect a new load bright and early.

Keep the faith and be SAFE!

I just got approved and will attend orientation next week and I am fresh out of school so not sure why they told you 4 months experience.

Prime takes CDL school grads within 6 weeks of their graduation... If longer than 6 weeks or you are working for someone else its 4 months experiance.

I just picked up a CDL school grad who graduated two weeks ago... I will be training him for 60k team miles...

Thanks for the clarification. Good luck with your new grad. Hope I get a good trainer.
