Hello, I put my app. in for Prime Trucking as well as CR England last Thursday. I called Prime on Friday. The recruiter was very busy but she did say my app looked good. I haven't heard from her since and I'm squirming in anticipation. Heck...I'd even welcome a call from England right now. England is not my first choice but I need to get moving soon on something. Does anyone know how long I might wait for Prime? Should I call the recruiter again or just wait for her? This is my first post so I would like to thank Emron, U2Exit and Ironpony for some wonderful insights to the Prime Trucking experience. Heck...I even thank the whiners and complainers for their insight too. I remember those guys from my Navy days. LOL
I'd keep calling and stay on it. They're so busy you could slip through the cracks if you simply wait on a call back. Hold as long as you have to and speak to a live person. Let them know your situation, and that you're looking to get going real soon. Beware CR England, my friend!
Hey Emton, Called my recruiter. Had to leave a message for her to call me. In the mean time...and I won't bug you no more...but my blood pressure is a little high and the VA has me on meds to keep it down. Do you think that will disqualify me? You guys have answered my every question in these posts except for this one thing. It's been great reading of your adventures. Thanks
Hello everyone great info from you guys i have been looking into a couple of outfits like central ref. ,stevens trans.,and may trucking. so far i think i might be more interested in prime. How long does it take to start seeing a paycheck and how much is traing? Thanks and drive safe!!!
The recruiter will have more info on this. You will need to provide documentation from your doctor about your treatment, and that your BP is under control with your current route of treatment.
What U2 said, plus... You need to get the limits on BP from the recruiters, and have your doctor check it. Also provide your perscriptions (ALL OF THEM!) to the recruiters to make sure you aren't taking something that will disqualify you. If you qualify, the worst case deal is you will get a 1-year medical card (instead of a 2-year card) - so you'll be seeing a DOT-approved doctor a little more often than some drivers. That's not necessarily a bad thing!
If you look through the thread... http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/prime/57246-prime-training-experiance.html ...you'll find some recent info that U2 put in there concerning this. He's more up to date on it than I am since he started training. That info would be towards the end of the thread in the last couple of months or so.
Time for an update. Have not had much to report with some hometime and time off. Getting close now, within 10000 miles of upgrade. Trying to work out staying with U2 until Thanksgiving and upgrading the week after. Again, no complaints. Our F/M is keeping us pretty busy with some cross country runs and lately a bunch of overnighters. Have not done any driving in snow or ice yet. Did get hung up in WY for a day and a half with 80 shut down, but the roads were dry and clear once re-opened. Welcome to all the new drivers and students. Keep the faith and be safe!
I am supposed to report to Springfield, MO on the 11th of November. I have recently graduated from TDI in Murfreeboro, Tn and I already have my class a cdl. What is in store for me when I get. Do I have my physical and meet the other requirements and then asiigned a trainer or will have weeks of classroom before i go out with a trainer
Hey guys, I'm probably gonna go to Prime after the holidays. I been reading alot of the forums and it seems like it's a good place to start. I've had my class B with X endorsements for 11yrs. Delivered explosives. So I hope i'll get up there and do well. Just wondering I live about 30 miles West of Atlanta off of I-20, wondering if that's a good location for me to get some hometime pretty easily? Not to worried about getting home to often just curious for when I would like to come home?
