Well someone sure dropped the ball, just made my delivery to Walmart in VA and has a preassignment to Kentucky. Called in and no one could figure out why. My dbl wasn't there so who knows. Apparently nothing headed out of here towards home. I'm told they're working on something. Great. It's one thing if they can't get me home because of loads, hours, etc. **** happens. But just completely forgetting about it???
Who schedules your runs your dbl or does someone do it for him? Why so hard to schedule you home there? He must have more than he can handle?
If I remember right, what they say is that the planner send the load to the dispatcher, who is supposed to look it over before sending to the truck. Supposedly the DBL is supposed to check to make sure it matches your needs for requested home time etc, or at least gets you to a area that will get you home or closer to it. Again that's only what I have been told. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
diesel,my advice would be to send a message about 2 days before your hometime to remind them. I have seen it plenty off times that planners forget your request.
Well, I sat for 3 hours at a truck stop after delivering to the Walmart DC until they got me something. Deadheaded 150 miles into a small town sort of near Norfolk, VA, D&H load there. I'm relaying it to some yard in NC thats about 80 miles from home. I didn't have a waypoint or a message telling me to go home afterwards, so I'm assuming that they'll want to put another load on me tomorrow after I drop the relay to get me closer to home before releasing me. If they actually have a load. It sucks, I almost feel like I'm whining about it a bit, its just that I've been out for 5 weeks, I've never ever declined a load since I started working for Schneider, I don't call and complain about anything, I put in my hometime request with 2 weeks notice like my DBL asked me to do... I play fair. Just ready for a break, I really do hope they get me home tomorrow.
Doesn't sound like you're whining to me. You just want to get home. After 5 weeks out, who wouldn't. Hang in there man and good luck.
They may just tell you to head home from that drop. That's what they did to me today, dead head 120 miles to get me home from my delivery. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Still haven't made the drop yet, got about 100 miles to go. I'll give them a call tomorrow after I drop if there is no preassignment. I noticed on the workflow there is no task to pick up an empty, so that's promising. Fingers crossed..
