South Puget Sound area, we operate out of Lacey, WA

 

A normal work day for me is 8-14hrs. I mainly pull end dumps hauling fertilizer to fields. We also do some tanker work and I move a lot of equipment and non highway use trucks on a RGN. Depending on how far the fields are from the plant we haul out of I get around 200-500 miles a day. The weather plays a big part in what we do so some days are kind of easy but when you know the rain is coming that's when its time to step up the pace a little.

 

I go in anytime between 9PM and midnite. run 354 miles drop and hook. Paid by miles but doing it in less than 7 hours comes out to $24 an hour. No bosses, no onlookers. Beats the 12 hour days at YRC driving junk and working frozen docks.

 

I normally work Monday-Friday, starting at 10:30 pm. I'm covering a cowoker's run tonight over Snoqualmie pass. The weather looks promising enough that I will stick with my daycab, otherwise if the weather got bad enough (heavy snow), I would take his 3 axle sleeper for the better traction... And that's only because my tractor only has traction control instead of interlocking capability. Otherwise, daycab all the way...
