Thanks for your comments guys, comical and informative. Yes, I do like to blink my lights, I LIKE to be in control of the operational facets of my vehicle.
I also deliver to facilities located in or near residential areas. Would you like a set headlights illuminating your bedroom at 3am when I'm backin' into the driveway across the street from your house? Most folks probly wouldn't notice it while they are sleeping, but it crosses my mind.

it's in the body logic programming, when you release the brakes the park brake switch tells the esc to kick them on and turn the park brake life off on the dash
Drivin_Dave Thanks this. -
Not true for all. I am driving a 2011 Prostar and it has a headlight interrupt button on the steering wheel that blinks the lights off.
As far as scales go, they understand that some trucks come with DRLs (almost all trucks from Canada), and I can't say that has ever been a reason for getting pulled around back.Drivin_Dave Thanks this. -
Fair enough-but his '06 is still the same basic cab IH was using in the 70s, the Prostar/Lonestar trucks are a whole new ballgame.
...which is why I said it was a piddly reason. Yeah, I know it'd probably never happen, but it bothers ME, I try to keep as low of a profile as possible, and that's one of the reasons I disabled mine. -
I actually like the headlight and marker light interrupt switches on my steering wheel...It took a little getting used to but was a good idea.
Big Don Thanks this.
