what search radius are you using. I personally would try and find something I'd look near Valdosta or Albany and plan on D/H before I'd wait til tomorrow worse case is you pick a load up in am in Georgia and drive there today. Florida is a very tricky market. I love going to Florida but hate trying to get out of there. Before when i was at last company we ran Florida all the time and would D/h to GA to get moving very rarely did we haul freight out of Florida. Good Luck

I'm seriously thinking about deadheading up to Atlanta if I can get an appt at the OC to get my PM and oil change done. I won't use that much fuel deadheading up there, and whatever I do use likely won't cost more than it would for me to sit down here for a day.
I'm hoping to get my graphics on my truck next week, but a lot of that depends on how I can do this week financially. I've done a lot of design work for my business, I used to do that kind of thing before I became a truck driver. I even designed my own documents. Here's a couple snapshots of the two main ones I use on a daily and weekly basis. (My address and phone number are blocked out for obvious reasons LOL)

I'd look for loads between you and Atlanta if it were me I'd hate to get to Atlanta only to take a load you have to back track on. Also I'd stop before I left Florida and check Board to make sure you don't miss anything also. I always try and get my PM's done either on home time or at beginning of 10 hour break to maximize time available and utilize down time.

I just snagged a quickie load going from here in Orlando up to College Park, GA, in the Atlanta metro area. It doesn't pick up until tomorrow, but I suppose that's as good as I can hope for. Plenty of good freight coming out of that area. I need to get home within the next few days anyways, I'll just do my PM then.

Cool glad you found a load.

i have my company name on my truck. It doesn't say lease too never had a problem with my name. You can only have one set of DOT numbers on truck
-
Cmon man we may want to show up at your house and stir up the neighbors lol
-
Yeah, that's what the DOT officer told me (he mentioned it while giving me a roadside inspection one night). One set of numbers only, and if there are two company names on the truck, such as Schneider and then my name, the words LEASED TO must be clearly displayed over the company name that holds the operating authority.
He said that he personally has never written a citation for that before, but that it is a citable offense if an officer wanted to be a jerk about it. And we all know there are a few out there. I'd rather be safe than sorry.TennMan Thanks this. -
LOL I wouldn't recommend driving down my street with a truck. After I bought mine, I bobtailed home after delivering and was going to park across the street from my house in a big driveway that was part of an abandoned house. Got within two houses of mine and I hit a power line. No damage, but now I have to drive nearly off the road to get past that line when I go home, and I have to do it very carefully LOL. There would be no way to get a truck and trailer even onto my street, it's not physically possible
Drifter42 Thanks this.
