Yes the updates were done, I took the truck off the lot just in march, and thanks to this board i was told to make sure that the softeare was updated, my friend at penske also told me to make sure, Now! having said that it is what the tec told me I hate to say it but I dont trust any of them, I know that is an lousy attitude but past experience tells me to err on the side of caution, my friend told me to bring it to him on monday at penske and he will check it to make sure, Hey thanks so much guys, as always this board is one of the most useful tools in my box.

Sorry to drag up this old thread but...
My 04 DD series 60 ocassionally coughs in high gear right at 1300 rpm. If the turbo is already spooled up there is no cough, if I'm simply easing it up through the gears I get the cough and then it spools up perfectly. I'll have to check the egr unless you guys have a better idea.
Also, how often should I "run the rack"? I've been told every 100,000 miles is this correct? How much should I pay to have it done?
Thanks,
Mack -
some say shifting at 1300-1500 is not lugging? in my truck with ser 60 det. if I shift at 1300, by the time rpm's drop & I grab another gear especially in high gears like 9th, I will be luggin the engine. If I am heavy I'll shift at 1800 grab the next highest gear (10th) at approx 1450 1500
mackdaknyfe Thanks this. -
That's something to think about. Thanks.
