2015 coronado with 465K miles. I suspect the pump is starting to go out based on pre-filter and scattered glitter in the filter media. I would rather replace sooner than later. The total glitter count in entire filter media might be 20-50 pieces. They are scattered through out and very small. What prompted me was the pre-filter screen. Had some sand and small amount of metal flakes. Fuel filter was replaced before no earlier than 425k, so 40k or less on this last fuel filter.
The part number for the Bosch fuel pump is A4700 902150. This is what the truck has and from what I understand is also the most updated part. The local dealer has a reman in stock. Has any one installed reman? New ones can be ordered for more $700 more. What is the longevity of the latest fuel pumps? Is this still an issue on the 2015 and later years? I'm leaning towards the direction that there should be "0" glitter in the filters. Just want to know if these are still getting replaced on the later years and any advice is also helpful.
DD15 bosch fuel pump going out? longevity?

There were problems with those back then. Had a few done under warranty. Need to drain, pull and clean the tanks also.

I talked to a few people. Doesn't seem to be as common on the newer DD15's. The bosch pump appears to be original dated 14-02-26. Which I understand is Feb 26, 2014. Pretty early on in 14, I would say so although it bears the latest and "greatest" part # with 2150, might be too early still. What prompted me was the pre-filter. I got some aluminum and some metal shavings in there. Also, filter media has about 50 specs of aluminum as well as some in fuel bowl. The glitter count is small, and not as bad as some of the photos that I've seen elsewhere. However, the aluminum is consistent in filter media and bowl (module), as well as prefilter. If this is normal wear and tear then I would like to compare to someone's filter media. You don't need to cut into the filter, just pry apart with your fingers and see if you can spot any glitter. BTW, it is very difficult to get accurate photos with a basic phone camera. The lighting doesn't reflect to see this. Nonetheless, I've uploaded some more photos

I decided to run it instead of replacing the pump. Did a thorough cleaning of the fuel module and want to put some miles before checking prefilter again. If anyone is changing any fuel filters for the Dd15, let me know if you can spot any fine filter specs in the media.
