Are these engines performing or costing alot of down time? What is average shop stay for an Emissions breakdown?

I have 119k on my ' 12 cascadia. At 105k I had the DEF injector clog. Cheyenne FL had me out by noon same day.
cosmic47 Thanks this. -
Put 35k on a 2013 in about 4 months, just a couple of sensors the first week and nothing to go in the shop since then. Driveability is exceptional, and only have done parked DPF regenerations after prolonged idling, trucks are not equipped with idle solutions because the owner of the trucks doesn't see a payout for having them on the trucks.
The lease company could buy the trucks with ISX, but are continuing to buy these, they used to have a few trucks of other makes equipped with ISX.
The regens are remarkable because little notice is given , the engines run a few minutes at 1100 RPM, and no discernible smoke is given off. The exhaust has literally no odor at any time in the one I'm driving.silenteagle Thanks this. -

The company i am leased to is getting rid of ISX trucks because of too many maintenance issues.

DEF.... should never been invented at all.... nothing but problems....
what is wrong with a bit of black soot in the air now and then.... got to love that...lol
The Diesel engine was developed by Rudolf Diesel in 1893 ... no DEF back then...
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is an aqueous urea solution blended with 32.5% high purity urea and 67.5% deionized water.
So why are you putting Piss and water in your Diesel engine anyway???
Water I can see if you want a steam engine .... steam gives you that extra power

Better off not breaking down than to worry about the response time, that can vary greatly due to location and your situation. They seem to be breaking down less often, which is why some fleets are going with them.
You can get the ISX in a Cascadia, too, and many companies are getting them equipped that way, I'd be interested in hearing if that helps the ISX out. -
The DD15 was engineered around DPF & SCR, the ISX was just a bolt on. Should indicate something.
