Okay I’m currently at Freightliner I had no other choice but to come here I tired my local mechanic and couldn’t detect the problem hoping they can here if not I will look into doing this !Tombstone69 Thanks this.

I had a 1998 Century that had the same fuel shut offs that my 2016 Cascadia has, mounted above the transmission with the long metal rods / levers that come out closer to beneath the drivers door.
After several years of pounding down the highway the truck became harder to start as it was loosing its prime. Eventually it lost its prime going down a mountain and the engine stalled out.
Eventually it was tracked down as being the fuel shut off valve itself.
The valve sits with the stem mounted in a horizontal position. The long metal rods bouncing down the road exert a downward force on the valve stem causing it to twist in the body, wearing out the seals allowing air to get in on the supply valve or fuel to get out on the return side.
Don’t know if this is your problem, but the truck is old enough that it could be.Tombstone69 Thanks this. -
So Freightliner had to bring in the Detroit Engineers. They told them to replace my Quantity control valve. Dose anyone know if this could really be the cause I heard the Symptoms of this is bad Idling. I lose prime over night not sure if that valve will cause me to lose my prime.

Looks like they are about to start throwing parts at it and see what sticks.
Tombstone69 Thanks this. -
Usually it just makes the idle surge up and down.

Okay so nothing to do with losing prime ?

Sounds like a fancy name for a check valve.I'll get back to you.

Controls the flow of fuel between the low pressure pump to the high pressure pump. That might do it. Appears to keep the fuel regulated between pumps. Its a very high tech metering valve and doesn't seem too hard to replace, if you have the right tools. There's a video on YouTube, shows you how. After seeing all that plumbing and other BS, makes me glad I have a pre- EGR 12.7 DDEC.
