I was driving south on US 75 in Texas last night and some prick was throwing a deadkey and locking down channel 19. I first noticed it while driving through Sherman and it was about a S7 and I assumed the jerk was in Sherman and the further south it would fade, but as I got closer to Dallas it was getting stronger, and once in Dallas it was registering in the red, which lead me to believe it was originating from Dallas, now its 65 miles from Dallas to Sherman, is it possible to throw a deadkey that distance? Wouldnt the radio responsible eventually fail from doing so? It was a friday night with heavy traffic and pouring rain and trying to hear local information would of been helpfull. I eventually made it east to Terrell for delivery and my needle was still registering a S7, quite annoying.

There’s a few monsters roaming the dark. Everything’s bigger in Texas.

Now after sleeping most the day I just drove from Terrell to Ft. Worth for pickup and channel 19 was normal, at least on I 20, maybe his station blew up or he takes Saturdays off.

A base with a set of beams could easily do it.

There used to be a clown in Baton Rouge that kept 19 tied in knots every day. He was using a simple ground plane from an apartment building.

    Until someone outed him ;)

There’s some a/wipes who never shut up. That keydown might have been THE EXTERMINATOR working.

If I had that aim-able beam antenna, I’d have the Reddy Kilowatt lapel pin.

Oh sorry about that...My D104 had the lock on, and I was swinging the house around trying to find anyone talking, not knowing I was throwing a dead key across half the State....There's a guy over in Shreveport I know that I was dead keying and he gave me a call on the phone and told me to check the locking thing on the Mic...thought it was something wrong with the radio at first... "hate it when that happens!"
