Dealerships? Really?

I was at the kenworth shop awhile back all day, another driver was there getting some wiring done, when they finally finished they charged him 1200 dollars, he said come on man every ten minutes your mechanic was outside smoking a cancer stick, they dropped the price in half. I go to the dealer in Greensboro but only let one mechanic touch my t800. Thats the only way I know to do it, find out who their best mechanic is, build a relationship with him and you can get some very good service. Every shop has one guy who is their go to guy even for their other mechanics, find out who he is and use only him.

Sadly this approach didn't work for me.
I made only 2nd shift appt's so I could work with ONE service adviser who would get to know me and only 1-2 of his top techs, since i was a fussy SOB when it came to my rig.

The last visit was in MAY. I have left KW and will never take the rig back there again. I emailed the Service Manager and the Branch Manager and neither responded. I have conversed with them in the past but I suspect they had nothing to say. Every RO I had done was done wrong or obvious related items were not mentioned/addressed.

Gawd help them if I get the 'big' eye going in there for parts. My next call or email will be to PACCAR directly. I will not put up with attitude from a Kenworth dealer.

 

I was on the road and had injector problems. Had to go to the Peterbuilt Dealership in St Louis. Really not impressed with them at all. After being stuck there for 3 days and then kicking out 1500 bucks, the problem was only half solved. Plus, they lost one of the rubber grommets and bolt for the side skirts on the truck.

I was pretty disgusted about the over all experience there. Only dealership I've had to go to for work. The other times I've had to get something fixed was little, private owned shops. Never felt like I was being taken there or treated like garbage, like the Pete dealership.
