That video was 9 minutes too long.
cbholister, Toomanybikes and Dale thompson Thank this. -
@dogtrucker I'm assuming you knew the details of the trip when you were dispatched on it, correct? Was there any way to proactively address the situation before heading out?
Hopefully you were compensated for your down time. -
On a Monday, they can call me out when they want. It just 6 hours earlier than necessary.

Whenever I use a video, someone will complain that 5 or 10 minutes is too much for their attention span.
I don't care at all cuz the lowest denominator people aren't interesting anyways, 'cept fer lulz. -
I did enjoy the study of literature. Especially, Shakespeare, Twain and Steinbeck, but my true passion is poetry. Especially writing poetry. I am working on a collection of my poetry in hopes of getting it published.
In somewhat relation...I was at the terminal one night. My wife and I were setting in the lobby reading books and so many people made comments about how we were the oy truckers that read. That was a mega though.dogtrucker Thanks this. -
It may be less a problem with attention span than it is with long windedness.
It simply went on and on, and on...
I gave up about 3/4 through, because you were not saying anything more even before that.
I guess I am glad that I don't have that problem where I work.
If I am sent a plan that has way too much time, or too little, I can simply reply with the times that I can or will cover it.
I would NEVER come back from home time at 0700 if I had set my PTA at 1200.
Simply would not happen, and no questions would ever be asked.
And I would not be hassled or penalized for it either.cbholister Thanks this. -
Will you please keep us updated on how well telling your dispatcher to go sit in the corner and think about what they have done works out for you?
-
Well Atleast he held this dispatcher accountable for his BS
... Not sure if it help but as they say in the military
" a move is better than no move "Hick and dogtrucker Thank this. -
Dispatch is a tricky one. Friday they had me take an empty trailer 50 miles away and drop it to pickup another load. I told dispatch I'd need an empty for Sunday. Do what they say anyways because I'm just a driver right? Sure enough the yard was out of empties Sunday and I didn't have time to drive over to pickup the one I dropped Friday. Gets aggravating when one little mistake on their end leads to hours of set backs for you. Once had a dispatcher have me bobtail 65 miles to get an empty, in Chicago, Friday night, rush hour. They had no empties. I even asked why he didn't call and make sure they had empties before I wasted 5 hours? Him "They were supposed to have 6 empties." Glad I get paid by the hour...RERM Thanks this.
