Well, thinking about this, you are getting more than .95 on every load. And surely if this is the way its done then it would have been written in the contract that way.
Did you read the Lease Agreement before signing it? If you didnt, or did and did not understand it, did you get a CPA, Attorney or OOIDA to look at it before signing it?
You should never sign a legal document without understanding whats in it.ironpony and Rollover the Original Thank this. -
I love it.

I'll make this quick.
End of lease truck repairs: Explained in orientation, inspect the truck properly next time.
C-PAP charge: Call whoever it is you call for that and tell them you got charged for it when you didn't get the machine and get credit.
95CPM guarantee: Explained in orientation, every 100,000 miles you will have at least $95,000 in revenue before fuel and accessorial revenue. I'm currently almost 20CPM over guarantee.
72%: You get a copy of the freight bills, read them. And oh yeah, explained in orientation.
Either you didn't listen in orientation, or you signed the lease knowing all of these things. Anyways, I have a load paying almost $3.00/mi I have to go drive into a Nor'easter now. -
This is the same story that is told by many drivers getting burned in a company lease program. I am not a lease operator and never will be. I might lease to own, but NEVER, NEVER LEASE TO OPERATE. This Driver with "two years" out here states nothing about her background as a professional other than she got paid to drive. "Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be". I respect her attempt to become a successful lease operator.
Inspecting a used truck. The first thing I would do is take the truck to a third party DOT inspection station. What need to be done before signing a lease at orientation is to pick out a good truck. Having a Dealer do a DOT inspection and also have the dealer check the machine on a Dyno-Meter for a limited period of time and quality it can pull at full power with out problems on the frame or drive system. These used trucks are just that, Used, and abused will need some parts and repairs. It could be a day or a month, and they tell you it has a warranty, good for the first 12 months or 100K, so you will feel confident your Leasing Company will take care of the equipment once you leave the terminal. The Fact remains taht the only one who really enjoys a profit is the company. The sad part is the lease is written with all the contingencies included to benefit the Leassor and Cost passed on to the leassee. That sucks, and ther is nothing that will change that. The Bottom line Prime, Like others charge a Deductable of 500 dollars for each incident and they also charge a usage fee, these are not included in the Maintence fee that they collect. There is no interest because you are not buying the truck. In order to buy the truck the terms of the lease must be fullfilled and at the end of the lease they will sell you the truck. That is called the Balloon. The Value of the truck will be sold at fair market value determined by the seller. sic!
Look all these Lease to operate are nothing more than a contract that states you are renting a piece of equipment and are responsible for repairs and maintenance. If you are going to be successfull you must be willing to make huge sacrifices and hand over your money to the Company when things break.
This operator should have looked more closely at the terms of the lease before getting caught up in the leagalities and having to pay for undocumented or unsubstaniated repairs after deciding leasing was a bad decision.Lonesome Thanks this. -
