Did you read the first post? Despite all the OP's problems, passing the sleep test wasn't one of them.

As for DOT, they currently won't ask you for proof of use of the CPAP machine.

However, you will have to lie on your next DOT physical when it comes to the "have you ever been diagnosed..." If you don't want the Dr. to review your CPAP usage to clear you for your card.

My last load out of Bradenton paid well over a $1-per-mile. However, the rate for deadheading out of Florida is still $0.00.

That's a guaranteed floor that you won't sink below. We're paid on a percentage - you get your cut, accessorials and FSC. My current load is $2.26 per mile.

...and yeah, I KNOW its not your million-buck-per-mile gig. Glad someone is heading for trucking millionaire-dom.

Big money??? You've got to be kidding, right? What kind of dope are you smoking???

I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't LESS! There's no such thing as "big money" coming out of Florida - the inbound load needs to provide the profit for the round trip. This one happened to be above my break-even rate. Best case coming out of Florida is you aren't paying for the fuel.

Oh, yeah.... we still have a lot of flower loads coming out of Florida, but that's team freight. I run solo, so its OJ for me.

Florida: The only part of Fl I would even consider going into was a line east and west that went through Ocala! Anything south of that I would not even look at as freight! And that was back in the OLD days that ended for me in 1992 as an O/O but I went wherever the company went as long as I got my pay!

Nothing out of FL ever paid anything worth going any further south than that! Even the USDA site shows this to be true! Backhauls is what every moron broker down ther calls freight! Yeah right backhaul! Only idiots call freight backhauls unless it's to get a truck back to the company yard!
If you don't go south of that line then you really don't lose but MIGHT break even or actually make a few pennies to get out instead of just paying for the fuel!

I might have been born there and even lived there as a 20 something chasing bikinis but as far as I'm concerned they can haul their own OJ for that pathetic pay! Heck it won't be long before there won't be any oranges grown there as all the groves will be retirement housing or some extension of Disneyland!

Sounds like a great lawsuit for a HIPPA (how ever you say it) Violation. Seems to me that a big company like PRIME would avoid those types of violations like the plague.

Huh? This is a highly-regulated, safety-sensitive industry. The federal government requires that you open your health records and history to obtain a medical card - and all carriers have a right to obtain that history during the hiring process. HIPPA has nothing to do with it.
